After 30 years of owning and operating a thriving wholesale nursery in Los Angeles, Irwin “Win” Overbach was ready for something completely different.

Inspired by the beauty and subtlety of faraway lands, as well as his pension for fun, "Win" has strived to create a shopping experience unlike any other; an exotic destination synonymous with splendor and relaxation. The metamorphosis of the 10 acre site,( formerly occupied by Stewart’s Orchids), began in 2001, and hopefully, will never end- if the Island View Staff has their way… Part of the experience is ensuring that our inventory never lacks in beautiful things, ideally catering to the most specific needs of both our retail and wholesale customers. Whether you are looking for a beautiful garden accent, a rare orchid or bromeliad, fabulous succulents, a lush houseplant, a unique arrangement or a healthy selection of landscape plants, (or pots to put them in…), Island View is a treasure chest of discovery. In addition, our creative and constantly changing indoor and outdoor displays, as well as our highly experienced sales consultants, insure that you will begin to experience the dream that is Island View.
